- 5 NC Apples, sliced into even 1/8 inch discs
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar per baking sheet (optional)
- Optional flavors: cinnamon, salted, cumin, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom or plain
- Parchment paper
Set oven racks on bottom and top quarter of oven. Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and dust each with powdered sugar. Place apples on baking sheets, careful not to overlap. Dust top of apples with your choice of spices. Place one sheet on top rack, one on bottom rack. Bake for 1 hour, then switch the baking sheets’ positions and continue to bake 1- 1 ½ hours longer or until they’re golden. Place on a cooling rack and remove apples from baking sheets immediately. Store in an airtight container up to 1 week.
